Just Cruzin Life Foundation Donates to Flag Project

T.C. McNett, representing Just Cruzin Life Foundation, www.justcruzinevents.com, presented Mary Ellen Gruendyke with a contribution of $3,000 that will go towards purchasing flags that will be placed at Riverside National Cemetery on Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day.

Mary Ellen’s husband Dick, a Viet Nam Vet and career Air Force Officer, was known for his commitment to his country and was in every way a “flag, mother and apple pie” kind of American. Dick passed away in 2007, which was when Mary Ellen realized the need to purchase flags and organize volunteers to place the flags at Riverside National Cemetery. Due to her efforts over 10,000 American Made Flags have been purchased but many more are needed.

Tim LeBlanc, President of General Monitoring Services (GMS) agreed to help get the message out about the need at Riverside National Cemetery to honor the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our great country to secure the freedoms that we enjoy. T.C. McNett heard about the 2010 Flag Project from Mr. LeBlanc, he knew that the Just Cruzin Life Foundation was just the organization to help out! This nonprofit corporation was specifically developed for the purpose of benefiting those less fortunate than ourselves. Their mission is to enrich the lives of children and veterans through financial contributions. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for those in need. Just Cruzin Production’s will be hosting the Wagon Wheel Country Music Festival on August 28th – 29th at the Lake Elsinore Diamond Baseball Stadium, , www.wagonwheelfestival.com for updates.

T.C.McNett is one of GMS’s long time dealers, Alarmco, www.alarmcosecurity.net. They specializes in the design, installation, service and monitoring of security and fire alarm systems, access control and CCTV for both residential and commercial markets. “It is dealers like T.C. at Alarmco and their unparalled generosity that makes a difference in their communities. We want to thank T.C. for helping us secure the donation through the Just Cruzin Life Foundation and also for the generous donation from Alarmco. I am proud to call T.C. a friend of mine. ” says Tim LeBlanc.

Kudos for Dealer Support

Great Job Dealer Support!  On June 7th, 2010, Richard, GMS Dealer Support Manager, received the following email thanking our Dealer Support Department for exceptional support on Saturday, June 5th

Richard,

I would like to thank the entire staff in data entry for bailing me out of a ridiculous situation. Most companies would not have answered the phone with a live person on a Saturday, let alone do what you guys did it that short of time. I owe you all. Thank-You again.

GMS Employees Salute Veterans

Over this past Memorial Day weekend, it was brought to the attention of GMS President, Tim LeBlanc, that help was needed to place flags to honor area service men and women at Riverside National Cemetery.  Riverside National Cemetery is the third-largest cemetery in the country and was established in 1976.  It is home to the Medal of Honor Memorial and is one of four sites that are recognized as a National Honor Memorial.

With family and GMS employees helping along with scouts, church members and others from the community to place flags at RNC, nearly half of the cemetery was covered with flags.  Unfortunately, volunteers ran out of flags before the entire cemetery was finished.

Mary Ellen Gruendyke started purchasing flags with her money, after her husband, of 41 years passed away in 2007.  Dick Gruendyke was a Viet Nam Vet that was a career Air Force Officer.  Because of his commitment to his country and was in every way a “flag, mother and apple pie” kind of American and was a friend to everyone who knew him.  After he passed away, Mary Ellen realized that Riverside National Cemetery, did not allocate funds for purchasing flags to honor those that have served our country on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.  These men and women have given the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country to secure the freedoms we enjoy.

Since that time, she has been purchasing flags and arranging for volunteers to place the flags prior to both holidays and then going back to retrieve the flags afterwards.  Due to her efforts over 10,000 American Made Flags have been purchased, but many more are needed.  GMS is teaming up with Mrs. Gruendyke to place 20,000 more flags for Veterans Day, November 11, 2010.  In order to reach this lofty goal, we need your help and support.

100 Flags $50

250 Flags $125

500 Flags $250

1000 Flags $500

How many fallen servicemen and women are you going to honor today?

You may send in your check to General Monitoring Services with Flag Project written on it.  Checks can be made payable to Jon’s Flags, receipts for flags purchased will be sent out directly from Jon’s Flags.  Please remember to include the persons’ name that we should be sending the receipt to on the check as well.

After Veterans Day, volunteers will go back to RNC to retrieve the flags for future use, Memorial Day 2011.  If you or your organization is interested in volunteering for Veterans Day flag placement or removal, please contact Mrs. Gruendyke at 951-640-3935.

GMS will be posting the names of individuals and companies that have made a contribution on our web site.  If you would like to link this article to your web site, please contact Sandra Long at sandral@gmscentral.com.

1st Seminar is a Big Hit!

June 2, 2010 GMS held our first in a series of Dealer Education Seminars, covering Voice Over IP, what it is and why it is important to know and learn about current solutions.  With POTS lines quickly becoming a thing of the past, dealers need to understand what the solutions are in order to stay competitive.  On average between 8,000 and 10,000 homes and businesses are switching from POTS lines DAILY.   With representatives from, XO Communications, VoIP Alarm, AES Radio, Napco, DSC and GE, dealers from across Southern California made their way to Huntington Beach to learn more about the challenges of their customers going away from the traditional POTS lines and what they are going to need to do in order to stay competitive and retain those customers that are choosing to go with Voice Over IP.

After the seminar ended, the GMS Staff received numerous positive comments from dealers and vendors alike.  The seminar was a much needed opportunity to get the information into the dealer’s hands.  The turnout was fantastic and we are looking forward to the next one already.

We would also like to take this time to thank Howard Eigenberg, Roy Kaneshiro and Wendy Nguyen with XO Communications, Bryan Field-Elliott with VoIP Alarms, Steve Eisenstadt with PSR, representing AES Radio, Dale Clement with Napco, John Kaloper, Gary Cotton and Sigifredo Ruiz with DSC and Sheldon Strong with GE for their time and effort into making our first seminar a success!

If you have attended the seminar and did not receive an email with a survey attached, please click on the following link to let us know what you think and how we can improve future seminars.
